After their first bid fell through, Inter Miami are back in the race for Federico Redondo. According to journalist César Luis Merlo, the club have submitted a new offer to Argentinos Juniors after closing personal terms with the player. The only drawback is that the MLS side will first have to sell several players in order to sign Redondo, with a transfer window deadline of 20 February.

At the beginning of last week the club reached an agreement in principle with the player in a deal worth $8 million for 80% of the rights. However, the deal eventually fell through because Miami had exceeded their budget limit set for the previous season. Facundo Farias’ long-term injury left a free agent for 2024, but MLS does not allow transfer fees (the amount to be paid) to be higher than those paid to Colón de Santa Fe for the playmaker ($5 million).
