UFC was established in 1993 and it has grown exponentially in the last decade. Fighters from all nationalities are helping the sport of mixed martial arts grow and that is why the president of UFC, Dana White, wants to hold an event in Mexico in the near future.
“We have a plan to return to Mexico. My plan was to buy some land over there and then to build a performance center, but the negotiations fell apart. I have big plans for Mexico, not only with main cards, but more,” he said during an interview with the LA Times.
There are more Latino fighters
Dana White also talked about the new Latino fighters that are helping UFC grow exponentially which helps more people get interested in the sport. Fighters such as Brandon Moreno and Alexa Grasso from Mexico are making their way to the main cards.
“Moreno was brilliant in his last fight. We also have to see how much Alexa Grasso has improved because she changed her style of fighting. I could speak of other Latino fighters because they are brilliant and that is why they are fighting in UFC,” he added.
